Medusa Publishing Identity & “Niente di Vero” – Turkish Market Launch
The visual identity of Medusa Publishing was developed for a newly founded female-led publishing house based in Istanbul (2024), dedicated to promoting women authors.
The logo is a contemporary reinterpretation of the mythological Medusa: a cultured reader wearing glasses, subtly ironic, with one of her hair-serpents friendly whispering in her ear — a symbol of sharp wit, storytelling and self-awareness.
The editorial layout system was designed for a pocket-sized format, inspired by mass-market paperbacks, and has been conceived to be applied across the entire catalogue to ensure visual consistency: defined margins, typographic hierarchy, flexible grid and a clear placement for the Medusa mark.
For the Turkish edition of “Niente di vero”, the international award-winning bestseller by Veronica Raimo, the book cover has been designed within this system. The illustration, entirely hand-drawn digitally, interprets a key passage of the novel: the author-protagonist’s ongoing metaphorical struggle with her life and the desire to elevate from it.
The graphic concept depicts ironically a mythological labyrinth, where the author-protagonist climbs over its walls, forcing her way out, setting herself free to finally see the escape route from above.
